“Ship Wrecked“ – Session 0
It is early autumn in the year 6049, by Loremaster reckoning. The summer saw the death of the Katra of Straone, and hopefully an end to an eight expansion by Stroane forces into Miir and northern Emer. It is said the Katra was killed by his new young wife on their wedding bed, but those are just rumors.
On the Sea of Gold, a merchant caravel, the King’s Mistress, is lost at sea during a violent tempest. She was five days out of Izar, bound for her home port of Artha, capital of Danarchis. All on board is presumed lost.
But the gods are capricious, and a few mariners survived the storm. Fate washed them upon the shores of Kælia, the home of damned city of Zinvar.
Here, they not only lived, but walked upon those forbidden sands without madness overtaking them. The group weathered the storm in an old hunting lodge, encounter the shambling undead that haunt the night, dug the wreckage of the King's Mistress, and went to the ruins of a small fishing village (Norric).
In the village, the adventures worked to repair an old dingy. Encountering giant rats and skeletons, and eventually were assaulted by a group of ash covered madmen.
Despite a few setbacks, the seven castaways ended up with a serviceable vessel and crossed the Keyton Straits and landed not far from village of Yorndale, in the moors of Bodlea.
They told their tale to those who refused to believe. Suspiciously, the Jarl accepted them to winter in his village. Mirek Grimm, ship bosun for the King’s Mistress, however, braved the looming winter, and continued his journey to Danarchis.
